Hi all old member with another username as I can’t recall old. 🥴

My 2008 CBR1000RR has developed a grinding noise coming out of the Idle Air Control Motor Sensor. I have removed it from the throttle body and it spins and goes up and down. When it’s back in the TB and I turn on the ignition it whirrs and I can hear moving. It sounds really like a short but it’s definitely in the solenoid. Item 6 in the parts list.

Bit of history on bike. I’ve also had issues with bike not starting and have to roll on the throttle to get it to fire. It’s a pig when trying to start hot and cuffs and splatters for a bit. It’s got new plugs and new air cleaner.

Have you got a fault code up, and have you checked out iacv with an Ohms test

No fault codes on dash
IACV haven’t done ohms check.
