Hello folks, when measuring the fork oil level, should the springs be removed and the stanchion tube collapsed?

Thanks for your help. Pat

Thank you Ian.

Once the cap is unthreaded from the tube, is there a trick to getting the cap separated from the rebound adjuster rod?

Cheers

I believe they are very similar to my 93 900RR forks, the cap just "unthreads" from the rebound adjuster. Then there should be a nut on top of the upper spacer retainer. Loosen the nut and spin the rebound adjuster off.

Just be cautious of the o-ring on the rebound adjuster, I think the threads ride on it as you unscrew the cap.
