I re-drew the 929 electrical schematics for "E" size. That's W44" x H34". I was tired of straining my eyes over the one in the manual and this makes a nice addition to my workshop wall. I wanted to make it a multipage layout like a real schematic but I was pressed for time. Why do all automotive electrical diagrams suck?

The attached .zip file contains 4 versions of the drawing. They are two .dwg's of AutoCad LT2000 and AutoCad R14 and then two .dxf's of AutoCad LT2000 and AutoCad R14. All 4 files are the same and only differ in format which should be enough varience for a print to made. You can take this .zip to almost any blueprint shop (yellow pages/blueprint) and ask them to make you an "E" size print from one of the versions. It should not cost that much, say $10 to $15. DO NOT take it to Kinkos. Those morons will over charge you and that's only if they can figure out how to run the big plotters.

I have my own plotter so if you are having troubles finding a local blueprint shop then let me know and I'll try and help.

If one is wanted for the 954 I may be able to quickly create one of those but I'll need a diagram.

Enjoy

If you've seen the Honda service manual drawing you'll know what I'm talking about. Spend an hour troubleshooting with that and some x3 filtered vodka comes in handy.

That title block is hilarious.

Change the layer colors for the race prep and advanced race prep layers. Good work!

I could've used that when I built the harness for my bike. :crap:

I hacked out a lot more than you recommend even in the advanced, they do like to "double back for no reason".

The layering was one of the last things I did on this drawing so it's a bit rough. My harness is spread across a peg board now geting purged to a level beyond the drawing layers but probably not as far as you went.

I'll do some more work on it including labeling certain wire functions, i.e., speed, tach, neutral, etc. These arent really evident from the drawing and its good to know info.

Let me get a couple more cross country flights in and I'll have something that's much better and maybe it can go in the knowledge base.

Thanks for all the feedback. Any other ideas....let me know.

Pretty sweet. Seems like a lot of manufacturers run wires where they don't belong. I do auto wiring and see this a lot. It doesn't make sense. They'll run a wire out 2-3 feet and then run it back, just to connect it 4 inches from where it originated. WTF?

An RC one would be nice if you get bored a little. I even know someone that would be willing to send the diagram. ;) Whe you say cross country, are you in the fron or back of the plane?
Chris
The RC might be a total re-draw whereas the 954 would probably be just some minor tweaks.

I fly in the back of what is commonly referred to by the guys in the front (Pilots) as a "cattle wagon". Of course I do get to sit in the front of the back when available.

Vegas for two weeks of business coming up then to Manhattan for 1. This will give me some time to add some nice stuff to this current drawing. Anyone have the CAD drawings of a 929?

any chance in getting this as a regular file of some sort for us average gals that dont' have design cad programs to open these files with ;o)

I'm in need of an easily readable drawing to chase down a problem with my fuel pump not getting power... ruled out fuses and the kill switch (have continuity) and not gettin the voltage out of my wireharness that feeds the pump... need to see about any shut off relays that may be along the circuit somewhere (found no tilt switch... so need diagram to look for other culprits)

I've been searching the net for a downloadable diagram - i only have the manual for the 600f4i and not my 929 :crying:

tks

Download Volo View from autodesk.com.
I was going to suggest the same thing but it looks like Autodesk has discontinued it.

Alternatively, you can google "dxf viewer" or "dwg viewer" and find many others.

unfortunately I live out in the boondocks where there ain't none for hours away.... so i'm tryin to find the quickest way to get goin on this...

I'll try the search for a viewer as suggested and see what I can come up with..

I did find a lil bit of info on some bike chat forum where someone has hosted tons of service manuals for free downloading but I all I saw listed was the 954 ....

tks again fellas...

FYI, those manuals are illegal, and this site, unlike most, has always insisted everyone abide by the law and not post that stuff here.

I was just downloading some free trial that would convert to a pdf :D

so I'll go delete that trial and just use yours... THANK YOU THANK YOU...

now that I have the diagram I won't need to deal with those other manuals... all I wanted was the wire diagram....

I've always just ordered the OEM ones from the Honda place but it takes a week for the thing to get mailed to me... so no worry I'll be ordering me one on Monday to have on hand for the future...
