I was at the track this last weekend at Texas World Speedway, and I was having problems with 4th gear. It was either not wanting to go into gear, or while leaned over in a pretty fast corner it would drop into 3rd.

At first it was intermittant but by the end of the track day, it was very consistant. So I packed up and headed home not wanting to do anymore damage. When it dropped into 3rd while leaned over it felt like at times it was spinning and then catching.

Also, with the clutch pulled in neutal while sitting still, the motor felt smooth. But when I released the clutch with it still in neutral, it seemed like there was a vibration.

I am fairly certain its the gear dog, but wanted to know, if I pulled the oil pan and take a look. Would the damage be visible from the oil pan? Is it worth taking a look or should I just pull the motor and break the cases?

Thanks.

Never mind, pulled the oil pan and it appears I will be breaking the motor to pull the tranny.
