Help please! CDI getting very very hot (smoke) seems to be on the green/white pin, disconnected sidestand switch and clutch switch but same...could it just be short inCDI ?

Hi , can only suggest trying another ICM as there's no test for the unit itself , but try back probing the connector with a multi-meter to see if your getting a high voltage entering , maybe even check the Clutch diode in the wiring harness on the right hand side of the frame

OK thanks, no high voltage just battery vol on 3 pins, bike will actually fire up and run but ICM smokes but if shut fuel off so it won't start and spin it over the ICM still smokes.. clutch diode doesn't test ok with ohm meter

Clutch Diode should work if engine starts (clutch and side stand Bypassed) and voltage could be right , but Amps could be high due to a partially broken wire ,worth checking that , but ICM could be already goosed, have you look at the REG/REC , does that get hot as well
