Anyone done this or have had to do this? Bike has just turned 14K and is 4 years old.. wondering what or when should do this?

Is it hard.? Anyone have tips or instructions?

This is really easy to do, even easier to do with with the OEM (Helms) service manuel.

There is a bolt on the Head (Left side w/a copper crush washer) that will allow you to drain the top on the engine... there is a bolt on the water pump (Left side with a copper crush washer (at about 5 o'clock) that will allow you to drain the bottom of the engine. Only use coolant that is compatable with alum., also only use distilled water. *(Note right vs left means as you sit the bike).

To fully flush the system you need to do this at least twice.... I've never been able to completely evacuate the system until I've done this at least three times.... BUT.... I was trying to get all antifreeze out in order to to trackdays.

And yes it is a good idea. The basic component of antifreeze does not break down with age but there are additives that do.
