OK, the pull choke on my 96 900 is driving me crazy. For those of you that own or have owned at one time the older blades with the manual choke I have a question for ya. Did you ever have a problem with the choke cable sliding back to the close position only 1 or 2 seconds after you pulled it out to the open position? When I go out to start my bike I like to put my gear on while I let the bike warm up. Only problem is mine won't stay on the choke. I have to hold the choke cable in the open position. Any ideas on a work around?

Not sure 'bout the 900....but on most of the pull out style chokes, there is a little knob directly under the knob you pull to set the choke, the little knob is a friction lock, try to give it a little turn

Ok, old thread I know... but I got the same issue on my '93, but there is no knob under to alter the friction. Any other ideas?
