Re: Cutch upgrade 900 rr r

I can't comment on EBC's clutch kit, but I've had 3 Barnett Kevlar kits that have never let me down. The heavy duty springs take a strong left hand at times but you get used to it. I have one that was bought new back in 98 in my current RR and the plates still look brand new with no de-lamination of the fiber material, and no scoring or burning on the steels. I found a link here, but I see it says from US. I don't know if it's available down under:

93 95 Honda CBR900RR Barnett Complete Clutch KIT Kevlar | eBay

So hopefully someone with actual experience with what your looking at can help you out :)

imo your best set up would be oem clutch plates n the heavy duty spring kit. oem clutch internals are a proven solid choice of many a racer on track and strip. lots of people will upgrade the springs tho. oem clutch is a little more money but you cant beat them.

Ok so kevlar clutches are fine, but OEM is better. And stiff springs. I like to know about it when im pulling the lever lol, plus the extra pressure on the plates can only be a good thing!

Thanks fellas, i'll do some shopping around and see what i can come up with.

When I was replacing my OEM clutch plates and discs, I discovered that for my bike the OEM was about twice as expensive as Barnett's. I went with Barnett Kevlar discs, steels, and HD springs. Put about 12,000 miles on so far, works perfectly. 99% street and mountain/canyon riding. One seriously hot track day too, performed just as it should.

So I got a price from Honda for OEM steels, fibres and springs, it was double the price of an aftermarket kevlar set, so ended up getting the EBC kit of ebay. Will keep you posted.
