Hello,

I recently replaced my thermostat and now have a pretty noticeable leak coming from the housing when the engine is running. I am planning to take it back apart and see if I can figure out what I did wrong, but it seems like it should be pretty straightforward. I replaced the rubber seal that goes around the thermostat along with the thermostat and tightened the bolts on the housing. I didn't tighten them super hard because they're small and the recommended torque was pretty low, but I would think it should be fine.

Anyone else have a problem like this or have any advice on what to look for?

yeah hopefully that's all it is. There's not a certain direction the thermostat has to go in is there? I don't think so as it's round, just checking.

took it back apart and as near as I can tell, I think I just over tightened the bolts on the cover, because the thermostat was shoved down in the housing. I put it back together with the thermostat facing the right way and didn't over tighten the bolts and it's working great now!
