this is ridiculous

If you have an option do not use DHL as a carrier. I have had minor issues with delivery before as well as my wife's employer using them for paycheck delivery, but this takes the cake

DHL attempted delivery yesterday, 2/23, and did not leave the package since a signature was required. I stayed home today to receive the package. At 5pm i checked the status of the delivery on the website, it stated it was on the truck for delivery. At 7pm i checked the status again, it now reads Scheduled for Delivery. So i called the DHL number, spoke to a rep and she told me that the office in my area was closed and that the driver could not deliver the package because he is only allowed to drive a certain number of hours a day. So he turned around and went home.
I was told that I could not file a complaint until tomorrow and that I had to wait for the package again, signature required
I asked why something like this would happen, her reply - we are a UNION SHOP

Unions suck. I used to be in one. They can make you a lazy good for nothing but then again all the $$ I paid over some years and we still were closed down.

:plus1: DHL is lame. Same delivery problems, didn't hear about the union though. They ended up leaving a $400 digital camera on my front porch. The label even clearly displayed the contents of the package.:thumbd: :idunno:
When the camera had to be returned I had problems figuring out how to ship it back with DHL so I went to UPS. The packing material they used was heavy paper...sub par.

A shot from the hip, but I'd guess DHL could pay the overtime for the union shop, but decide not to.

Don't ask me about DHL, they lost that set of RC wheels I had for sale here, the one and only time I used those fuckers and they lose the package

I haven't had a problem with them yet..

Fedex on the other hand has delivered to the wrong house(on the wrong street even, but he did get the number on the house right) left live crickets(we have a Bearded Dragon in case you are sitting there wondering why the hell crickets are being delivered to my house) on my porch to become cricketcicles in 20 degree weather after he didn't even knock on the door and I was home all day. Left other packages sitting at the end of my house in front of the door to the garage sticking out enough that my deck didn't keep it dry in the rain.. I hope to meet my local Fedex guy one day so I can tell him what a fuckhead he is and how I hope the mulitple complaints I have made against him eventually cost him his job...

Oh yeah, did I say I haven't had a problem with DHL yet? They have been on time, made sure to bang on the door when they could here the music form in the house so it got my dogs attention an I answered the door to a very patient delivery guy. Hope they get better for the rest of you.

They all screw up on occasion but while I have never used DHL, I've heard a lot of negative comments about them.

UPS destroyed a set of motorcycle title paperwork on us one time. They sent us the shredded letter package (UPS supplied) with a note that said "Sorry, we damaged the contents." When I say shredded, I mean shredded, and the title was gone. I think there was a 1/4 inch corner left.

I wouldn't use DHL to send something to my worst enemy. They came to our house twice last year needing directions for a house number a block down on our flat, straight street. At my former employer, DHL would only deliver before normal business hours, before sunrise, yada yada, requiring a signature. The UPS guy that delivers to my house let me know he rides sportbikes too when my motorcycle tires arrived. On time. As usual. And with a tracking number. DHL is for people who couldn't make it delivering pizzas.

I use fedex everyday. no problems. of course i bought the guy a bottle of jonny walker for x-mas:cheers2: . I do hate how they switched to fedex kinkos and let go most of their good people at the stores. they hired lower paid lower quality people to man the counter. i was sad to see them go i knew them for some time and was always taken care of.

UPS and FEDEX have NEVER lost, damaged, misplaced any package of mine, and I've probably sent a couple hundred between the two of them. DHL can burn in hell, I get pissed every time I see a DHL truck.

I have a FedEx screw-up story, also, from when I was trying to ship Jetbdude his Jardine exhaust. :idunno:

I sent my tax paperwork from Germany to TN last year using DHL's "fast delivery" service so my wife could get our taxes done. I was told it would take 4-6 days. 2 weeks later, the package arrived with stamps from three different countries, including two in the Caribbean.

now that i have spoken with my wife - they consistently "lose" packages on containing diamonds that are being sent to her store. they somehow always find the packaging somewhere on a dock with no contents inside.
