a week or so ago (maybe 2) I posted soemthing about Lucas Oil Stabilizer. Well I mentioned it to a guy at work and he said change the oil as soon as possible because people have told him they've seized engines after putting it in. Well in the time I had it in the car was sometimes hard to get started. I know the car is old and has almost 160k miles but the engine doesn't burn any oil and on occasion it would have trouble starting in the cold but that was battery related, this was like the pistons had to fight to get moving. On top of it ating like a bag of shit till it really got going I filled up the gas tank today and lost over a mile a gallon. Getting just over 10 mpg before sucked but 9 is terrible.

So do not use that crap. The guy at work said the only time he'd use it is if his transmission started slipping and he wanted to make it last another week or so.

that what he said. He was told that by the commercial specialist (she handles all the orders for all the shops in the area that have accounts). I can see it happening after using it, its very thick and sticky. And when I changed my oil to get it out I could see the difference from the oil coming out first to the stabilizer coming out last.

somehow I knew you would be the first to respond to this :D

yeah a little similar but still you said it after the fact also. Shoulda listened to the wise sheeply advice. My friend (who is the one at work that told me about those problems) is gonna get me some engine flush stuff made by AMSoil, his father is a distributor.

OK next piece of advice DON"T USE ENGINE FLUSH!!!!!! Now that the stuff has been in there, any teflon or other crap is on the bearings get over it. As far as the sludge just get the engine up near running temperature to thin things and then change the oil. While this may not get everybit it will get most. With a couple of changes it will be gone with the exception of coating which you live with.

yeah when I changed it last it was nice and warm and was pretty fluid. I'll do a couple more changes to get out whatever I can and be done with it.

I'm gonna continue to yell at my friend to help me put the new engine in.

and I was wrong. I found the last gas reciept and I was getting just over 12mpg. So I lost 25%. thats terrible.

:hmm:
OK here goes...

Mileage over a single tank can be highly variable I recommend over 2-3 at least. For instance running A/C, take an interstate trip, windows up or down all have a significant affect.

Why are you changing the engine if it "runs good and burns no oil" as I seem to remember you saying. At most you need a timing chain (likely you cold start issue) as that year GM probably uses a fiber coated rather than steel gear on the upper.

Save your $$$ for a bike and Grattan (or new car)

well no I was averaging around 12mpg before. now it just suddenly drops, I'm skeptical but I'll see if it gets better next week when I have to fill the tank again (but of course if it snows more and I have more fun in empty parking lots its really not gonna be a fair comparison).

The engine I have to put isn't stock by any means. And I have just about everything I need to put it in. only thing I can think of to finish it off is fuel line to go from the pump to the carb. And maybe an AC delete kit (I don't use it anyway, hell I hardly use the car in the summer).

correct me if I'm wrong but how will spending $20k I don't have get me money to get a new bike?

Besides a Civic is missing 2 of the 3 features I want in a new car (those 3 things are V8, rear wheel drive and manual shift). I think next vehicle will be a truck though but thats a couple years away I think.

This is the biggest joke/lie ive ever heard , but again it came in the next posts thats its related to AMSOIL. No surprise.
Ive seen hundreds of cars and trucks and bikes using H/D stabilisator and feedback is the opposite, less oilburn more mpg and less friction.
If it was really so , would you not think its been all over the news years ago? What about team Honda/Lucasoil/Troy Lee Design. dont you think theyknow a heck of a lot more than you, MLM m,y @$$ , get a life.
