Hey people. Got my bike (2005 1000rr) dyno'd a few weeks back, its got an Arrow twin outlet GP system, Power commander III, competition head gasket. I had it set up on a dynojet 250 jobbie, with a custom map at a place near me, with loads of racebike experience. It's showing 165.6 bhp at the wheel. I was made up with that. Feels absolutely brilliant now. Alot faster revving and wheelies like a guddun!
I was just wondering what kind of results you guys who have dyno'd yours have got.

My '08 is turning out 178 hp. I hear the '08 models sold in Europe are at about 190 hp.
Things are not always what they seem. These numbers could be good for promotion only.

Well thats not exactly true. The 08's at the crank are 178ph, the horsepower is the same on both the euro and US spec bikes.. The timing is retarded on the US models which makes them top out at about 10,500 I believe.. The Euro specs aren't held back and make peak power all the way to the redline which gives them about a 6-10 rwhp advantage stock.. Most US bikes make in the 150-160rwhp and the Euro's make 160-168rwhp.. Those are great numbers on your 05, very good.. The 05 I think was 172bph at the crank stock, im pretty sure..

Thats what's wrong with my bike, it's been retarted all along! Poor little guy, guess I'll have to by you one of those smart european ECU's. :rotfl:
Don't think of a bike as having a "retarded" timing map, think of it as a timing map that is precalibrated for use with nitrous.

That sounds much better now, doesn't it:D

Good numbers NorthSide. My 05 dynoed at 148. Only mod is a slipon. No Power Commander.

You mentioned a competition head gasket. Is it thinner than stock and was any port work done with the head off?

Its just a thinner gasket, thats all. The guy I got it off did it. He bought it new, and put it on straight away, along with the exhaust. He's a race mechanic so I tend to take his advice. He said that the performance air filters don't do alot, but the slight rise in compression from the thin gasket does more, so he spent his air-filter money on that instead!
All I have done is fit the power commander and got it set up with the custom map. The place I go are really good, they do BSB and IOM TT bikes etc. So I put it down to them. It was run in spot on aswell, and has only done 1500 miles. It sure tries to pull my arms off when I crack it! I love it!!!!:evilaugh:
