Electronics worked until i pressed starter

Hows it going, im having some issues with my 96 f3.. about 2 weeks ago i was at a friends and when i went to leave i turned my key and all lights came on dash, but than went off suddenly.... i pop started in his driveway and rode fine for about 2 weeks, yesterday i turned key and lights came on, then went off, so i turned key off and back on and everything was fine. now i went to go leave this morning and light came on when i turned the key than went off, so i went to pop start and bike starts but with no power, nuetral light flickers and bike dies if i give it gas? any help??? please this bike is m only means of transportation and i am screwed without it.

battery isnt brand new but should work if i try and pop start regardless of condition right? i have left my bike on before until battery died by accident and a quick pop start and ride around the block seemed to do the trick, but batt has seemed strong, Lately and hasnt fully died since last season. thanks for the help
