Would anybody know are engine block numbers the same for a motorcycle if its the same make and model or are they unique even for each motorcycle

The make and model will be identified by the first four or five digits/characters, i.e, a 2001 CBR929RR is recognised as: SC44 . . . ; a 2003 CBR954RR as SC50 . . . ; etc.

The actual serial number would typically be the last 6 digits. This system has been standardised within Honda over many years. As you merely mention 'a motorcycle' other manufacturers will use different prefixes.
