I go with cutting a gasket. Get yourself plenty of exacto knife blades and go slow.

And good luck! Probability of success good vs. excellant with an OEM gasket.

Make one from gasket paper, hold the paper against the cover, use a small ball peen hammer and gently tap around the edge of the cover with the ball end of the hammer, this will cut the gasket for you.

Uhh, what about using the torn OEM gasket, and filling in the torn part with some permatex?
