The Akropovic can is costing me £285 inc postage. Dont know if there will be any duty on it as of yet, just will have to wait and see. Couldn't find anyone in the UK to supply them. Checked out loads of links through google, M&P, Demon tweeks etc, but none were listed for the 08 Blade.

There was talk in another thread about disconnecting the cable that operates the flapper valve in the muffler. Since its spring loaded open, and all the cable does is keep it closed below 4k, if you take the cable off it just stays open. I believe someone actually posted that he felt more power below 4k.
I just disconnected mine took all of 2 minutes to do. Sounds a lot better:thumb:

Actually I am looking into the Remus exhaust now, looks close to stock. Really don't care about weight reduction just wanted more noise.

Hi Pilotguy027

They dont as such, got mine painted when I ordered it, think it will be the first repsol RR8 in the UK as its the first one by Dream Machine, who do the majority of paint jobs for GP's, WSB, and BSB.

Should (Fingers Crossed!) be collecting tomorrow, and will post pictures then.

Regards

Had a lid painted by Dream Machine years ago, top quality stuff those guys do.

If you don't mind me being nosy, what do they charge for a full bike paint job ? Or was it part of the deal with the dealer ?

Cheers

Honda are due to do a Hanspree blade later in the year as I understand it and repsols will be out at some point, nice choice in dream machine they are the nuts, my m8 has had his 848 done in a stoner rep scheme and it looks great.

It is nice...but damn thats a lot of money. I would buy the slip on if they create a full system that I can retrofit the slip on to and if it makes good power.

Popped in to my dealership this morning, and got talking to some HM Plant guys there for a Honda open day.

One of the guys told me that HM Plant racing had tried two aftermarket open exhausts for the Fireblade. He didn't say which brand they were, but he did tell me that both exhausts resulted in the bike making less power than with the stock exhaust fitted.

It really seems that the technology in the stock exhaust works, and in his words, only change the can if you want less power and more noise.

Enough said.
No offense to you but your dealer is a fookin idiot. Here are two charts from the same bike. The first chart is stock shown as blue=5th gear and green = 6th. Sorry the tach pickup was not working.
The second chart is with pump gas, a full Leo Vince system and Bazzaz Z-FI system. Custom map. The red line at the top of the second chart is a drawn in guess for the custome what we can get the power to look like once it is figured out how to work with the ignition up top.

No numbers on the Taylormade yet. Will let you know when I hear somthing. I dont think any of the slipons are making any high gains. Stock is pretty good.
