Is it possible to update the firmware for your blade?

For example my 954 calculates the miles per gallon every 546 yards... it's be real nifty if it did it more frequently.

Maybe you could even put start up messages on the LCD panel. :eyebrows:

If you could see live mileage data, it'd be pretty useful.
It would let you know how far you got before you crashed from watching your gas mileage in real time. For all of their usefulness, my biggest distraction on my Goldwing are all of the "live" displays.
God knows I do not want distractions on a superbike:nono:

Ahh I'm not always going hell for leather. Half the time when I'm gassing it up the hill to work it's still showing me the mileage from the cruisy bit at the bottom. By the time I get a refresh the throttle is already closed and I'm none the wiser.

It's also be nice to adjust the trip meter to display more than 3 digits. For example it's a pain in the butt I can't use trip meter B to set my last oil change unless I want to change my oil every 999 kilometers.

Ya, I know - better instrumentation would be a + and on that theme I don't know why bikes don't have service lights like cars do (my BMW for example), which are not just time/distance dependant but on driving style too, so more fuel used from ranting it then the more frequent the service becomes due. I'm not convinced one service interval (esp oil service - see the other recent thread on this!) fits all styles of riding.........?
