So I got off my butt and me and my friend who has a 08 CBR 600RR went out into the local mountians for both of our bikes first canyon ride. I was held up a bit since my buddy is a new rider but from what i did get to zip through I am very happy with my choise in getting a fireblade. the bike is very sure footed and just a dream to ride.

I got into the throttle more than before but i was surprised that the bike will not power wheelie in 2nd at all from what i can tell.

anyway aside from that I also lost my bar ends. I think the left one may have already been missing or i lost it on the ride home from picking it up. I noticed that the right one was almost falling off at our half way point and I tightened it back up as much as i could but it fell out on the drive home today.

so todays question are what do I need to do to get my bike to wheelie. preferably power wheelie in 2nd. Gearing? weght placment? clutch it up? how much?

and bar ends. why do they fall out?

I even chopped the throttle while trying to sit back on the seat more and it still staed down. I am new to wheelies but i was to understand that literbikes should be able to come up in 2nd under throttle?? I imagine its the stock gearing that is limiting it. I'm a little bummed but the bike is still fast as hell. I would try to clutch it up but I have no point of referance as to how much to let ir rev up or how fast to let out the clutch so I'm a little scared and I am hesitant to try it in first gear for some reason.

Stunting is not tolerated in here so you'd be better asking on a stunt forum.
Yes, litre bikes will wheelie second just off the throttle.
You do still need to know how to do wheelies though :)
I always remove the bar ends as soon as I get a bike but I left them on the Blade for its first track outing and I lost one on the track.

sorry I appologise about the stunting question.

yea i was puzzled about the bar ends coming out so easily. i tightened that one back up but i only had a key to do it with so maybe it wasn't on enough.

why remove them?

I trim off all excess weight but especially anything that damps the steering.

i am still up in the air about getting a dampener or not. Some people say its needed some say its not.

First, it's a damper - nobody manufacturers dampeners.
Second, it's certainly not needed although some do _prefer_ to run one.
I don't. Need and preference are two different things.
It comes down to how you want the bike to ride.

yea sorry for all the silly questions. I didn't go that much into the technical stuff with my last bike i just rode it and changed the oil/lubbed the chain.

My impression was that the damper was usefull when the front end got light comingout of corners but i don't think I'm that agressive or a rider that i will ever be in that position on the open road.

If you aren't comfortable with the bars flapping then you might prefer a damper. I don't mind it and consider it much more beneficial being able to feel exactly what the tyre is doing under braking and turning. All of the feedback front the front tyre is felt as bar movement. A damper dulls that feel.
