nevermind, just read another thread. posted too early. sorry guys! i have a new question though does any year 1000rr have the same brake caliper setup as ours does? apparantly the forks will fit, but noone is sure if the calipers will bolt up correctly. anyone have a spare set of both that can verify? long shot i know, but it's worth a try!

Not 100% sure but I think you'd have to get a new front wheel as well, or at the very least, rotors. If I remember correctly, the 929 and 954 use 330mm rotors, but the 600RR and the 1000RR use 320mm rotors. That means that for the forks and calipers from a 1000RR to work, you'd have to get the rotors to match as well, otherwise the rotors would be too large for the calipers.

You can fit 1000RR forks but they all have radial caliper mounts. The 1000RR also ran 310mm and then 320mm discs so to run your 330mm discs you _might_ have to space the caliper bolts up 5-10mm but you can just as easily run the 1000RR discs on your 929 wheel as they are the same pattern and offset.

I'm sure some people have...and I'm sure there are plenty more people out there who would like to do that but haven't yet because of money....like me.

I have the oddest question of all. I want to run 2008 1000rr forks on my 954 with a RC51 wheel.

Is that possible if I change the inner cavity of the RC51 wheel to 1000rr? What rotors do I need?

Front fender, can I run 954?

Thanks in advance

You can run whatever forks and wheels you like, as long as you're happy to do the work of making them fit.
I would expect the forks to be straightforward but you would need the radial mount calipers and make spacers if you want to run the 330mm discs. You will need to check the disc spacing of the '08 1000RR and the RC51 to know whether you'll need to space them to fit.
