Hi all,

Consider me a newbie okay.

Front forks seem to be bottoming out lately going over bumps (railway tracks). It makes a CLACK noise like I can imagine the fender hitting the front fairing.

Stock shocks from front and back. All suspension settings are stock. I weight about 165 with full gear, and I've been told stock is about right for me.

My forks were straightened out after my crash in 2k2. The fork oil has been replaced as I understand, but I could be wrong.

Basically, is my shock bottoming out? Would changing oil fix it? (i.e.: maybe with a heavier weight oil) Do I probably need to take it apart to see? If the springs are gone, how can I tell? (I know that for cars, you can tell fairly easily).

Normal operation and semi-agressive cornering seem to be fine. Forks are not springy, not bouncy, they don't dive under normal breaking. Nothing. Only when it hits a bump does it go *THWACK*.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Turn the preload ALL the way up. The springs are too soft on that bike.
