It didn't come with instructions?
Have you tried contacting the manufacturer?

:plus1: best way to ensure the information you get is 100% accurate and not just speculative.

Sorry perhaps I didn't make it clear. I have instructions and they say this.

CBR900RR, CBR1100XX - Yellow (Solid Yellow wire)
VFR750 White/Yellow (Solid White wire with thin Yellow stripe)
All other models Yellow/Green (Solid Yellow wire with thin Green stripe)

I am confused. I have a CBR 954 so do I come under the top line or the "other" bikes?
I just wondered if anyone has actually done this before?

If the unit is compatible with the 929/954 then they are technically CBR900RR's as well.
Otherwise, I guess you're in the "all other models" grey zone ;-)
Do they specify which years of 900RR?
You can't determine from the wiring diagram which wire you want to splice into?

Have you tried each wire?

Yellow/Green wire on the 954 is RPM. I just fitted a GiPro it came with a plug and play loom 'except' for the rpm wire. Which I soldered to the yellow green rpm wire with the black green wire of the gear indicator. Mine is the latest version...earlier models may differ....hope this helps a bit.

I just installed a GiPro but I hooked it up to the yellow cam pulse wire and it works perfect. I watched a video of a 929 install and the yellow wire was also used. Did the Yellow/Green actually work for you? Seems strange that both wires will work the same.

The Australian 954's are more or less the Euro version. So there are some differences in the wiring compared to US bikes. For example my bike bike has H.I.S.S. the Honda key Ignition security system....whereas the US version does not. There maybe other minor differences which affect the wiring systems between both bikes (emission requirements for example). So yes the Gear Indicator works perfectly in my bike.
Cheers, Wayne D.

I contacted HealTech and they said both the yellow or yellow/green wire can be used, but the yellow/green is recommended.

Here is the email response I got from HealTech:

Hello,

Thank you for the email.

We recommend to use the Yellow/Green on this bike, but you can use another source for RPM signal, like the solid Yellow wire on this Honda model.
If you have any kind of problem please connect the GIpro Black/Green wire to the Yellow/Green wire at the ECU.

Kind regards,
/Attila
