Mornin dudes....anyone ever try this oil? I found it on Amazon, mostly good reviews, occasionally someone says it causesd hard shifting. But otherwise full stars. It would be for my 954's & 929's.

It's just a cost issue, it's between OEM & this

Your thoughts please

Maxima is a reputable brand. I use Lucas semi-synthetic 10w40 because of all the oils I have tried I feel like it gives the smoothest shifting, but I wouldn't hesitate to try the Maxima brand. I'm sure this is as good as Honda's GN4. However, I doubt this dino oil would give the same transmission feel as the Honda HP4. GN4 and HP4 are what's recommended in the 954 service manual though.

I can feel a difference between some of the higher end oils when shifting and I very seriously doubt this oil would compete with those. I'm sure its adequate in terms of protection though.

Maybe buy enough to do a single oil change and see what you think before you buy 4 gallons! :)
