Hi, I've had honda heated grips fitted to my fireblade and they keep switching themselves off. The dealer seems a bit reluctant to accept this as a fault saying that "honda grips do sometimes switch themselves off". This doesn't seem right to me and when I first got them, about three months ago, it didn't happen then.

Anyone experienced this sort of problem, with the grips or dealer?

Thanks, Stegzzz

I have Oxford ones fitted to my bike and they're supposed to cut out when the battery power is getting too low.. It isn't because of that is it?

You didn't mention the bike you have but many OEM heavy load devices, on cars, such as heated seats and rear window defrosters are on built in timers so that they can't be left on by accident. That's all I can figure.

Hm, it's not a "time-on" issue since it can happen PDQ or they can stay on for a while. As for the battery, possible but not sure how to tell.

It's a new bike but weather cold recently and the way it turns over isn't exactly convincing. It starts fine but sounds like the battery wouldn't last more than a few goes on the starter.

I guess the dealer can check the battery somehow.

Oh, the other thing against this possibility is that I've had it switch off on a low setting and then it comes back on (and stays on) OK on a high setting....
