Hi all Coming here to ask for some help.
Recently I experienced some strange stuff going on witch my Blades electrics and when I started measuring i accidentally bumped into a strange reading:
-battery negative terminal disconnected
-positive connected
-voltmeter reading 12,5V(battery voltage) between battery negative terminal and the frame
Is this normal ,shouldn't frame be negative and measurement like this impossible.
Can someone perform test like this on their own bike to make it clear.
BY the way this is my recent purchase that i never got to ride really ,I got it as a project.

You may have a power drain there by the sounds of things, might be an idea to pull one fuse at a time until you get a reading of zero and then you will know what area to look at.

Thanks Kevo954 i tried that already and pulling the fuses out one by one not making any difference.
Any more suggestions?:idunno:

Kevo954 , Mollari thanks for your input. I think I got the problem ...turned up the cheapo alarm system or the cheapo installation of it was making that funny reading .I ripped it out today and it seams ok but waiting for few parts to put it back together and do the final testing.

Hmm, Bottle of wine and a JD and coke is my excuse....

If the negative cable is disconnected but the +ve isn't and you measure between the negative battery terminal and the frame, there's a very good chance of the reading you got. Just means the 12.5 volts is finding it's way through something on the electrical cct somewhere, could be anything.
Not quite sure what I read to conclude it was impossible..:O Soz.

I think we're missing some basic Ohm's Law here. Voltage isn't what you test when removing fuses for a current drain, which doesn't at all answer this man's question. Having a dead battery in the morning is when you start checking for current drain. You disconnect the negative side of your battery, connect your probes in series and remove fuses until CURRENT falls to 50 ma (milliamps), or less. 50ma is acceptable. But this is not what he's asking, he's measuring voltage, and 12.5v is not unusual, since you're charging at +/- 13-14 volts, the battery can be charged and 0.5v more isn't alarming, it's normal, each cell produces 2.1 volts.
