If someone has elected NOT to use their real name as their username, and does NOT include their real name in their signature line, in all likelihood, they do NOT want to be addressed in the forums by their real name.

It's that simple.  Show at least a modicum of respect by offering them that courtesy, and do NOT publicly address them by their real name, no matter how well you THINK you know them, or how much you THINK they are your friend.

OK. And thank you for removing the avatar of Stegen's ass. Now that was a breach of all human decency...

This is exactly why I have refrained from identifying the 'real' Micheal Bolton on this board....

Agreed, and I do profusely apologize for my momentary lack of respect for all mankind.

Serial Thriller : Quote (SuperDave @ Nov. 04 2003, 9:03am)I learned a new word today...'modicum'!
At first I thought it was some sort of porno slang.

It's not only uncomfortable, but it implies some sort of personal relationship or familiarity that may or may not exist.

If someone wants to use their 'real name' as their screen name, then it's different, but using someone's first name on the forum is definitely uncool and not within the guidelines of general forum etiquette.

After meeting Chainstretcher & Tigerblade last week, I can say that this is true....

Is this just a fancy dancy way of telling us all to quit calling you 'cockhole'?
