The 929's have some sort of idle compensation device on the left side of the carb banks, perhaps the 954 has a similar device. But I have to say there is little documentation about it and its trial and error. Get a copy of the shop manual and read up on it. The valve has a water feed loop from the cooling system, there is an expanding wax pellet inside and when the bike warms up this pellet expands and changes the idle. Check it out.
