hello , could anyone tell me if they know a company thats makes gears for the exhaust valve servo , as wouldnt metal gears be better or even plastic as it must be cheaper than a new servo ......................... ty

Sorry this question been asked a ton of times .......answer no! If they used metal it would just nock out another gear, or break cables.I have taken mine out all together, kept airbox flap open and blanked off the exhaust valve. jobs a good un...

I think there was a guy here that managed to find some replacement gears that worked. You'd have to search for it though. I think he got them from a hobby shop? Could be worth finding out if they're still working.

thanks boys , will keep looking for a new gear , as for opening the flapper and pining the H-VIX so that when u turn it fully upwards until its fully open, so the notch on the valve is pointing upwards ?
When my servo went i had truble starting it when cold !!!! would i still have this problem if i was to remove the servo , and like every one knows its imposible to turn the red light off unless u put a working servo on .........?

The HVIX is the complete system including the HTEV and the airbox flapper.
Set the HTEV at each of the three positions and see which you prefer for the riding you do.
I can't think why the servo motor would affect cold starting at all. If the HTEV were partially blocking the collector you'd expect performance problems.
If you don't want the permanent light (that has no other effect) then you need a servo. I don't think it needs to be functional but does need to be positioned correctly - I haven't tried it myself.

adam , what you looking to get for the servos , as i think postage would be high ???
The servo motor only weighs 350gms and costs around US$200 new.

If the centre cog has gone on the servo then the light will come on, it works by a wire conected to the first cog and another to the last cog, when both are in the right place the light goes out. I intend to make up a device to go inthe middle to opperate both gears in order to turn light off, if it works i will post pics and let you know....:thumb:

Very cool. If you're going to the trouble though might it not be a better solution to come up with a device to replace the entire servo motor to trick the ECU?

Will be trying that, but recon the ecu needs movement, all depends on how many boxs need ticking to turn off light. I recon there is a solution out there, and as i can put blade in dinning room, i can be dry and warm while trying, Must rig up exhaust pipe out window this time, takes ages for smell to go, and my Daughter gets the hump.....:evilaugh:
