OKay, I know this is bad, but I am not used to Honda's. Anyway, I have a 2002 Honda CBR954rr - I am having a problem getting the rear fairing off. I have taked on all the screws and bolts, but not sure of the best method to remove. No matter which direction I pull it seemd to resist.



Can any offer the proper method to remove without damaging the plastic. I am sure I am making this more difficult than need be.



Any help appreciated.

Very close, but no cigar. This explains the removel of the mudflap - but I wish to remove the actual rear fairing/cowling. Any idea?

It just takes finesse. The fairing should come off in line with the sub-frame towards the rear of the bike. You willhave to pull the plastic outwards to clear several obstacles on the sub-frame.

make sure you get the two little screws that go into the undertail.

My 1000RR rear cowl is a real bastard to take off, you have to kind of strech it over the rear frame (always feels like its going to break) to get the sides out enought to pull it backwards.

Perhaps this diagram will help...

Don't forget to disconnect any electrics.

Its hard to remove, take every bolt and connector off. Then you have to make it wider by pulling it, slid it little to the back, then start to raise the left side first over the regulator, after you have cleared the regulator area it's easy. But you have to stretch it a little.

It's really hard to remove. My previous TL was a breeze. two individual fairings, just unbolt and you are set.

Whats up with taking the mid fairings off. Why did they put all different sized bolts in it? The first time I took it off I said wtf. I couldnt remember which went where.

It's a pain to get off. As others mentioned, you'll have to pull it outwards a bit to kind of stretch it over stuff, sliding it off to the rear, I think. Just don't do it when it's cold out. It doesn't take a whole lot to crack it.
