Would a wheel from a 1998 CBR900 fit on 1997???
I'm asking this because there is one on ebay but I was told the shaft might be different because the speedometer senser on the 98 is on the front wheel and on the front gear of the 97.

Thank you!

I thought it was only the earliest models that had the speedo drive on the front wheel

I do know the brake discs are a different size though.

Only 1993-1995 Models have the speedo sensor on the front wheel. You can bolt any wheel from a 1996-1999 to the front of that bike. Any wheel from any year will fit the rear though.

The speedo sensor for 1996-1997 is on the front sprocket \ output shaft. On the 1998-1999 models the sensor bolts to the case. These senors are different in the mounting positions as well as in the resistance they carry, but the connections to the wire harness are identical. (I know you didn't ask about that, but I figured I would toss in a little extra education for free.)
