I just bought a Devil SB2 1/2 system hi mount for my 03 954. I am planning on getting the PCIII but it will probably be another month or so before I can spend the cash on that.

My newbie question is: can I go ahead and install my Devil system now with the stock ECU or should I wait until I have my PCIII.

I am dieing to hear this bike with the Devil system and am having a hard time waiting.

Go for it!  You can wait awhile before your PCIII purchase, you'll be fine.  Alot of folks have had their Devils on for along time before finally purchasing the PCIII.

BTW, it'll sound pretty cool - don't worry about that!

Thanks. That is all I needed to hear.

I am going straight home after work and taking a sawzall to my brand new Honda!

You should be hearing sweet music later on tonight!

I purchased the 3/4 Devil so I wouldn't have to bother with the cutting.

Reminds me of when I installed my spool kit into the swingarm...'Dave what are you going to do tonight?'  'Well, I'm going to go home to drill 2 holes into my $8000.00 sportbike's perfectly good swingarm.'

I measured 10,000 times, drilled once with hands shaking!

Good Luck, should be pretty simple! Enjoy

Yeah, cutting those pipes is going to be a one-way leap of faith ... but I have been mentally preparing myself for it for a few days now.

I have already pledged to not start drinking until after I have put the sawzall away.

Thanks for your help. By tonight my neighbors should REALLY hate my bike.

I have the sb2 3/4 on my 929 and i love it more everytime i ride.  Im sure it'll be fine without the pcIII, but when you do get one installed, you'll regret not having it sooner.  The mpg goes up and the power delivery is smooth as silk. After that do the pair valve mod.

Hi !

This might be a stupid question, but i wonder what system requiers to cut of the stock system? And why would you want to do that??
I can not think of one good reason to cut my exhaust. I'd rather save up and go for a full system, or buy a bolt on.. I read the bolt-on rewiev in mcnews.com.au and the 1/2 system yoshimura is no better than the bolt-on's when it comes to HP without a PC.

Just my 2 cents

In hindsight it probably would have been worth the extra 150 or so to get the 3/4 system from Devil rather than the 1/2 system that I got (that requires cutting). Coulda ... shoulda ... woulda, I guess.

Anyway the pipe is on and looks and sounds great. I had it on in under an hour - fit and finish was very good.

One thing - it interferes with the turn signals on my Competition Werks fender eliminator kit. I will have to modify the bracket to make them fit - no big deal.

I had my 3/4 Devil for about a year before I got a PCIII. When I finally did get one, man I could tell the difference.
