I wrote this piece in a RC51 forum and thought it may draw the interest of people here

Yes yes yes, it is all that, great but my initial point is that it is a bike that signifies the end of an era and the start of a new one. With limited electronics in its fuel delivery and ignition it resembles more the past than the future. No flybywire throttle control, no anti-spin, no abs, no electronic suspension and braking controls, etc etc..
Just crude blunt mechanical excellence of what came out of last century and before the new century trends were implemented on production bikes. I wouldn't doubt that through this economic turmoil some will go under and some who will survive may come up with a mass produced platform of frame and engine that each can apply a different recipe of electronics, aerodynamics, ergonomics, and styling. Like all manufacturers building on CBR600 and CBR1K platforms under license and there would be no other sport bikes to buy. If you compare the 4 Japanese 1000s, the BMW L4, there are minute differences in engine performance, frame geometry, and brake size. It is like a formula that are all converging to. Ducati and Aprilia are still doing their own thing but for how long and Triumph is falling in between selling a name really, nothing significant and of difference.
Meanwhile, the EEC and US states, followed by others, will try to beef up manufacturers and resellers interests by making it expensive and sometimes illegal to operate anything older than 5 years. By the time your payments are over the bike should be trashed!
I believe an international grassroots alliance should be formed and protect our right to ride what we like and love, that we refuse to conform to hypocritical standards that only aim to create sales, and if we like to run around on a 68 TR6 we should do so on public roads everywhere in the world.
To form such an alliance we should broadcast such a message ourselves, stay away from those that represent us for decades and are selling out to corporate interests and legislators.

NO TOLLS FOR BIKES (they are making us pay for the costs of maintaining truck roads; for every 600lb bike 1euro/dollar would equal to 150euro-dollar for a full size loaded truck, it is weight that destroys roads and bridges, not number of wheels)

NO RISING REG. FEES FOR OLDER BIKES AND OR OTHER OPERATING COSTS

NO NEW RESTRICTIONS IMPLEMENTED TO WHAT WAS LEGAL IN THE PAST

ENOUGH WITH THE PUBLIC SAFETY CRAP WHEN THOUSANDS ARE DYING IN CAR CRASHES, WORKPLACE, WARS, HOSPITALS, AND SPORTS FOR EVERY BIKER INJURED OR ANYONE INJURED BY A BIKER

WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE PUSHED AROUND ANYMORE

I do not doubt what you are saying about planes, but who has planes and who has bikes. They don't give a hat about me we don't give a hat about them!
Political action at the grassroots level is for those who get the short end of the stick ALL the stinking time, and not for those that offer it!

WE WILL CHOP THEIR STICK ONCE AGAIN, AS WE HAVE IN THE PAST, THERE WILL BE SMOKE ON THE STREETS AND IT WILL SMELL BAD FOR DAYS, BUT WE ALWAYS WIN WHEN WE FIGHT, ALWAYS! THEN THEY CAN WRITE THE HISTORY AS IT SERVES THEM, BUT WE ARE ALWAYS SILENT ON THE SIDELINES WATCHING AND WATCHING THEM MAST......BATE FROM FEAR!
