Just like to know if there's a way to change the shifting pattern on the new CBR1000RR. In stock form 1st gear is down, neutral, with the subsequent gears available by depressing up (1down-5up). I find the reverse pattern more comfortable for me (1up-5down), I'm sure there's a few other goofy foots out there too. Was so used to having it on my ZX-7 for track days, and it was simply a matter of turning the linkage upside down. I tried on the CBR, but the clutch cover prevents this. Is there any way around that or anything else like a kit to reverse the linkages?

Appreciate any info?

I'm pretty sure they did for the 600RR, so I don't see why they wouldn't for the 1000, since they're interchangeable. I think Pete & ccwilli3 have the Woodcrafts, maybe they can chime in with definites.....

Vortex does reverse shifting.

$279 at certain places..

That is what I have, the install was pretty easy. You need to purchase an extra part to make your rear brake work with the brake light.

Woodcraft for the 929/954 didn't allow for reverse shifting. Did they change that for the 1000RR?
Actually, they did allow for it on the 929/954 but you used the same method as the stock option (e.g. replace it with a VFR shift lever). ;)

You'll have to get rearsets to do it.
So there's not enough room in front of the shaft to just rotate the bracket forward as you can do on the 600RR (with a little dremeling of the sprocket cover, if memory serves)?

The Woodcraft rearsets allow for GP shifting in that it only has one linkage rod running from the footpeg diagonally up to the gear shaft. You can position the clamp on the shaft any way you want, for regular shifting or GP.

ND, actually, ccwilli has Vortex rearsets, and now that I sold my Woodcrafts, so do I. ;) And now that my Vortex rearsets are for sale, I'll soon have Sato rearsets. Damn, I'm turning into a Conqsoft. :eyebrows:

Hope it comes over but here a pic of our home made reverse shift lever mounted on the bottom engine bolt . Its just a 1 1/8 boss tapped 12mm for the bolt ,then a home machined lever secured bt an M8 bolt through the bush
