The fireblades version of the US election. Call it a poll if you like but lets get the ball rolling and see who is going to win this race. Vote in our poll and by all means state your reasons in this thread. Anyone can vote as the result of this election has global implications.

I haven't really made up my mind yet.. McCain is old, and has been in Washington for I think 30 years, I think most people want a change in Washington, out with all the "old school",politicians.. Iam concerned with Obamas lack of experience, his foreign policy experience is very little. But he is a fresh face and very intelligent, and it seems like more Americans can relate to him vs McCain. I'm still up in the air..

Is it important that McCAin should be at least computer literate? Does that point indicate that he is somewhat out of touch with the modern world?

Its not that he chooses not to use computers. He simply can't due to what they did to him in the pow camp. His arms got mangled. And I don't like the fact that Obama is nothing more than a democratic party puppet with no good ideas.

I'm favoring voting for None of the above at this point!!! You cant ask people to vote for the lesser of two evils.

350 million people in the US and these are the best candidates we can find that are willing to take the job!!!

The system is in fine fettle. It's just doing what a "select few" want it to do. Go ahead vote for "riding your bike instead. It probably won't make the blindest bit of difference:idunno:

And with respect Stick, I've seen people with no arms finding a way to use a computer. McCain just plain can't or can't be bothered.

Thats the bit which worries me the most.. things happening in the US have a habit of spreading their repercussions worldwide..
Well, the UK had a choice. We could have maintained focus on Asia and gone into the EU in full. Guess we trust the US more than the French and the Germans... Oh, and we refused to lose the pound and pints!

Oh and I forgot to say that we also refused to let them rule us from Europe. That was definitely a no no for me!

Yep, nationalism sometimes has its down sides. Frankly, it has nothing to do anymore in today's societies.
Personally I find it funny for people to say I don't like this or that country. I just mention soccer and how poor some nations perform. :rotfl:
Economy is the new battlefield. All that counts is money and wealth - the more the better.

I was just thinking, if we could swing the undecided's over to the "go and ride my bike instead, we'd win!:rotfl:

Typical british insular attitude and as far as lbs and pints go most of the kids here wouldn have a clue what your talking about. Ironic isnt it???

True, but even if that weren't the case my point above would have put a spanner in the European camp's works.

I take it you're for the Euro? Interesting. Many of my French and Spanish friends where completely supportive of the plan for about a year. They have all since changed their view!
