I recently got a corbins seat and would like to raise the rear ride height. Is a shim the same as a washer that gets slipped onto the mounting bolt for the rear shock?? someone that i know just got the right sized washer for their gixxer and effectively raised their ride height. if that is the case. How did the height formula work?? what thickness of shim ( or washer in this case if it's true) would raise the bike how much?? or better yet how much would someone raise the rear without drastically destabilizing the bike??

On a 929 there is no rear ride height adjustment if you have the stock shock. You have to have an aftermarket.

The 954 is ride height adjustable via washers. Most bikes can take at least 5 mm.

The linkage ratios are roughly 3-1, so 1mm at the shock would raise the seat 3mm.
