Hi my name is Eli I am new to this forum and just recently totaled my 97 900rr and I'm just looking for some advice and any spare front end parts and maybe a transmission. I need a whole front fork assembly with triple trees and all the goods. Or if someone can shed some light on whether I can use year 98 front fork assembly for a 97. I know the part numbers are different I just want to know if it possible. I would really like to find someone who has the whole assembly and other parts. All advice is greatly appreciated

Welcome. What part of Indiana you in? I do not have much experience with the 900rr but you have come to the right place. Many people on here have swapped forks and front end parts and should be able to lead you in the right direction. Hope you are OK from your wreck.

The 98-99 forks have a different caliper bracket angle to allow for the bigger rotors on those models. Simply swapping the forks will not work. You would need to swap everything, wheel, discs, clamps, forks, etc. 929 USD front ends if complete will swap right in as well. There was a significant change for 98 that won't allow interchangeable parts on the front end. Everything would need to be changed out as a complete unit.

Thanks man I appreciate the advice I actually found a set of forks that came with the trees and everything so that was good not I just need a radiator plus fan and headers. If you know anyone who has anything for sale I will be willing to buy as soon as possible. I can't seem to find them used online for **** and if I do there is always something wrong with it

Clutch advice after being rearended.

Hey Guys,
I was rearended on my 2004 CBR 600 F4i. Never dropped, owned from new. 54,000km 33,500Miles for my american friends.

I had never had any clutch issues before being hit. I was stopped for 2 pedestrians and young girl, probably texting, hit me. Bike landed on right side and my leg. No apparent frame damage. Exhaust was OEM so I got a new stubby exhaust. Once that was installed I started her for the first time since accident. Engine sounds fine, had it on a stand, so I went to test first gear. immediately stalled like I didn't have clutch lever pulled and disengaged. Pull felt normal don't think tension was off. And it had free-play.
I have since taken the clutch apart as far as the frictions/steels and ordered a rebuild kit from outlaw racing.
Need advice on the clutch baskets as I still don't understand what caused this behavior.
I see wear on the inner basket where the springs go, more on one than the other. Last summer on really hot days it was a bit harder to find neutral sometimes had to roll a bit before it would go back in. Not sure if that helps.
Thanks!
