Ok so last time I was here I finally got my 02 cbr 954rr up and running and proud to report yhat all is good and she is a beasy. Ok on to my question when I go outside in the morning to start it up it fires right up I keep it idle at 2k rpm and I hear a loud clunk come from what sounds like the stator area. Sometimes it does it once and goes away other times two or three times then goes away and rides and runs great. I have noticed on colder mornings it has a tendency to do it more but just wondering if this is normal or should I be looking for something. I looked online and seen some similar problems but never got a final answer. Any help is appreciated.

under what conditions do you hear this "clunk"...?

when the clutch lever is pulled in?
when it's placed in gear?
when you are letting the clutch out and begin motion?
just as it's sitting there idling?

Pull the clutch lever in and see if it goes away. If so, it could be the clutch basket rattling.

Could also be a slack oil pump chain, BR has said as they grow old they get slack and can make a clunking noise when cold...

I know exactly what you're talking about, my 929 does the same thing when it gets less than 40 degrees outside. I don't know what it is but after 2 clunks it goes away (3 if its freezing out). Since I moved to So-Cal (Nor Cal Transplant) I haven't heard the clunk, it doesn't get that cold here.
I have 48k on my 929 so it doesn't affect reliability that I know of. I tried holding in the clutch but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

My 954rr makes loud knock when I start the bike and engine is cold and when I havent touched the bike in a day or two, but knocking disappears every time I pull cluch in and when bike gets warm. I've also noticed that when I lean my bike to the cluch side and start engine, there is no knocking at all, so I'm thinking when the bike is on it's side stand day or two, oil is draining from cluch to side stand side of the engine and there is some play in the cluch basket or something.. so as soon as engine gets warm and oil gets circulated knock disppears so I'm not worried although the knock is pretty loud in my bike. Try to lean your bike to cluch side, wait five seconds and start the bike and see if theres a clunk anymore.

I'll try that at this point I quit being concerned about it because whatever it is isn't affecting the bikes performance. I assume it's normal and from what I've read all Hondas make weird noises lol.
