Hi all,i popped into my local dealer with my gs500 for it's annual check-up (M.O.T here in the U.K), and what was their for sale, the bike i wanted next,-last of the steel frames cbr600fw with genuine 3500 miles on it!!!.umbed and arghed as money is very very tight, but thought sod it,i could have this bike for 20 years posssibly!!
Loving the machine, said to myself would keep it stock but had a chance on Ebay for a brand new Giannelli slip-on and link pipe, snapped it up at a very reasonable price:)
Not 1 little mark on her, untill about a month ago,-DROPPED her cleaning her:mad::mad:,had to get her repaired from a bike panel specialist :idunno:,he done a great job,so absolutely mint again
one problem,- i now have a slight stuttering on the rpm's between 2.5k and 3.2k on acceleration in all gears (not in neutral bliping the throttle)
im thinking maybe a float got mis-aligned?
i cant see how a main jet or needle would be affected by the drop :idunno:
i have had a little play with the idle and thats all,(havent even pulled the plugs)seems a little beter and less stutter when i run the idle at 1.4k,but not knowing this bike not sure if the idle should be that high? the stutter/flat spot is there at low engine temps and high
all ideas welcome,- floats/jet needle/the idle circuit or just needs a re-jet after fitting the Giannelli can and link pipe designed for my FW to not need a re-jet?:idunno:

thanks all,sorry for the essay!!!!

safe riding,

Ant.

Sorry you knocked your bike over!

How about re-fitting the standard exhaust to see if the problem goes away?

Or maybe it's due for a new air filter or carb balance?

thanks Des,my thoughts aswell regarding re-fitting the standard end can, will do when i can and post the result up here.

the local Stealer i bought it from 4 months and 1500 miles ago claimed it to have a full service and carbs synchronized, but you never know!

well the standard end-can is back on,the stuttering around the 2.5k-3k rpm seems to of all but dis-appeared :thumb:,tick-over is a bit stuttery though.think i will have a look at the air filter and check the balance of the carbs over the winter.
might have to look into which jets to choose for my GIANNELLI slip-on and link pipe, all recommendations welcome!

new to this site boys, not sure where to post mechanical problems, but i have a cbr600 1996, that cuts out as soon after you take off, if u leave it for a while it will start again sometimes sooner than other times, just had a new cam chain and tensioner put in and a full service my mat thinks it could be that there is no choke cable at the minute so iam having 1 fitted, but that doesent solve the problem what could it be?
