I'm looking at buying or making new mirors for the bike. I don't really like what's available out there, besides these OPPRACING Products - Carbon Fiber and Colored Aluminum Fiber Sportbike Mirrors , which are costly imo.

If i can find out how the glass miror mounts TO the housing i know i can make a set. Anyone have a torn apart sportbike miror that can post pictures of how the glass mounts up?

WOW............$200 bucks for mirrors, They are sleek though. I personally don't like those "Carbon Look" mirrors out there but I would keep searching.

I have those mirrors in red Fast, they do look great and are very very light. Just not mounted on the bike yet. Every time I think I am gonna put them on its such a nice day out, i go for a ride instead.

I think most mirrors are held on with adhesive.

Some pictures for ya fast of two types I'm trying out. Not sure if I like em yet. Tried the one with extenders, like the view in them but don't like the look of the extenders unless maybe I paint em silver.

I tried one or two other mirrors also and didn't like them so far.

Wow, I like the LightTechs. Upon looking at a cockpit angle view of your bike.. kind of similar to the 98-99 900rr's looks.

How do you like the RC51?

I guess if i do make a miror housing i can epoxy it in place. I never thought of doing it that way.

I love the RC, been wanting one for a few years. Not as fast or lite as a 1k, but I wouldn't trade it for any other bike. I had a few 600's and the 93 900rr when they first came out.

The teardrops cost about $50 cheaper then the lightechs. I'm torn which to keep really. I have a red windscreen that I'm gonna swap out sunday to see if it makes the red mirrors stand out more.

Take a picture if your gonna make some mirrors. I wanna see other options.

I thought i'd post up a picture of of the seat cowl i just finished making. It's fiberglass.

screw those lighttechs. if you can make a cowl that nice make some mirrors yourself.

you should make a cowl for a 929. I'm even will to test it out on my bike for you :D

:D thanks I would need a 929 subframe, seat latches, rear seat, and seat hinge to make a cowl that would fit right. I want to make one... just don't have the funds currently to buy the used 929 parts. One day :)

I could'nt see much out of my mirrors except for my forearms.
First I tried the little stick on mirror ... cheap but not much help.
Second try was CRG bar ends ... expensive $250 with bar end adaptor, you need to cut your throttle grip and the plastic slide back to get a proper fit,but they look great. The 3" CRGs give you a wide view behind however everything is very small and you need to look down and away from the road, not a good idea when moving along at speed or in corners.
Third a friend of mine made me a set of extenders, they work great, but are not sexy looking like the CRGs.
Check out the pics...now I can see the cop behind me and with any luck will be able to aviod a pull over because I couldn't see behind me. If you're interested email Roger [email protected] maybe he'll step up the effort and get these on ebay soon. Will fit CBR 600RR & 1000RR 2001-current.

Shhhh don't talk about cops riding behind. I had one the other day do that to me, he actually flipped a U'y in a no u-turn zone to get behind me and look up my license.

This is the first i've seen bar end mirors on a fully faired sportbike, interesting.

I can pull apart the mirror that snapped off in my wreck last week once the insurance adjuster is through with the bike. Or you can send me $5 for shipping and I'll mail it to you.
