I am new here and would like to get a much advice as I can about restoring a '88 Honda CBR600 that I just got. Any and all advice will be welcomed. Thank you in advance.

:welcome:to the site:thumb: It depends on the condition....if its quite bad then strip it down to nothing and do a total rebuild......with pics and commentary of course for us all on the .Org

Thank you. The bike is actually in running condition. I have put in a new battery, got some new tires and flushed the fluids. Need to get the carbs cleaned and re calibrated (doing that over the holiday weekend). do you know what year plastics will fit on this bike? I know that I will have to do some customizing, but i want to change the color of it and update the look a little. You seem to be very knowledgeable. I would also like to know if I can change out the head light for a new two light look?

You can change out the light no probs and you seemed to have covered the basics with the fluid changes, not sure on the plastics(need some pics please) I'm sure some of the OLDER folk on here will be able to give you more advice on the fairings:thumb:
Have you thought of turning her into a streetfighter?????

I am not a big fan of the streetfighter look. I will of course ride her without the new fairings until I get what I want. Eventually this is going to be my wife's bike and I am getting a bigger one :smilebig: Can you tell me how to chat with someone on this site, i cannot seem to find the chat stuff. I am a little computer illerate, have not really done this stuff before. thanks for all the help.

Yeah it looks like that in the one in the picture. Although mine is all blood red. As soon as I figure out how to get pictures on here, I will send some.
