Heya
Yep just put a new chain on the 954 and 1 X-ring somehow was squished and is now poking out the side, must have not been seated right.
Anyway, I have spare rings, so can I just push the master link back out and start again, or will that compromise the integrity of said link, and should I buy another?

You'd pretty much have to ruin the pins to get the outer plate off the link. I'm sure a new masterlink will be needed. I've done the same thing, usually have one or two extra master links around. (assuming you're talking about a riveted master.)

Agree with the above. If I had to guess I'd say you didn't have the plate on square when you expanded the rivet heads. How did you do the job, with a dedicated tool, or with a hammer and punch?

yeah it was with the heavy duty breaker and riveter. Done a few chains in the past, just a lapse of concentration I guess!
And yeah it's the rivet 530VX D.I.D gold
I'll order another couple, cheers peeps
