Ok paid $230for new petcock took 2weeks
Leaks vacum side .so going to gravity feed only .Anyone see a problem with not using a vacuum feed petcock ...other than turning it of and on when I ride ..will take new one back and try and get cash back ..old one had small rip in outter edge of diaphragm and leaked out of main body ..so def needed a new one ..so as asked anyone see a problem with performance of bike cheers in advance ...

The vacuum "operated" petcock is still a "gravity feed" type. The vaccum that is pulled is only to "open" the diaphragm to let the fuel flow out. It does not assist the flow of the fuel at all. So to answer your question, there is no ill effect with using a non vacuum operated one, just remember to turn it off when not in use. If your float valves are dodgy it can fill up the bowls and overflow. The bike will run normally.

You can disassemble the diaphragm side to see why it's leaking. Just note the order of parts, because there is a spring there that like to "pop" everything out all over the place. Also, make sure you have the vaccum tube connected to the proper nipple. A new OEM fuel valve obviously shouldn't be leaking.

Yes oem one ..the diaphram in the old one has a small tare in it... had to hold it up to their light to see it right on the edge .not going to strip new one to see y its leaking. .will take back to bike shop and order a gravity feed only .As $40 is better than $230 .cheers will block of vacum outlet under the carbies cheers
