What parts from what year/model bikes are interchangeable with the 929? I've done some google and forum searching but have only come up with limited answers. I know that a lot of parts from the 954 will swap over, and I've read that wheels will swap from 04-06 (or is it 07?) 1000RR, but does anyone know offhand what other parts will swap from what other bikes either directly or with only some modification? Or is there a website that has some type of listing or search for swapable parts? Thanks for the help!

p.s. I'm asking because I'm in process of rebuilding an 01 929 and need all kinds of random parts.

Very few parts are a direct swap for the 929, even most 954 parts aren't compatible. The wheels from the 929/954/1000RR bolt straight in up to at least '07. 954 Forks, clamps and calipers will swap but are slightly different to the 929 items. I think the 954 rearsets are usable.
It would probably be easier to tell us what parts you need and we can tell you what other parts you can use.

Are 954 lower triples different offset/spacing, or just a slightly different casting?

Anyone know if 1000RR triples bolt up, and if so, what differences there are?
929/954/1000RR all have the same fork diameters and spacing. Not absolutely sure if the 1000RR has the same offset as the 929/954 but I'd be surprised if it's different.
As far as I know the 1000RR clamps bolt into the 929/954 steering head just fine.

The only parts I was really trying to find used from any fittable bike were:
-both rims
-rearsets
-engine (not expecting to be able to just drop in another motor, but find something that wouldn't take a crazy amount of mods/swapping additional parts)

But I also need the following parts if anyone has any of their 929 parts for sale:
-integrated taillight
-tail fairing
-flush mount turn signals
-streetfighter headlight
-handlebars/clipons
-front brake reservoir
-guages (stock or otherwise)

...i'm probably forgetting a part or two but i'll update when i find out if/what i missed...

Wheels as stated 929/054/1000RR all bolt-in and fit the 330mm 929/954 discs. If you don't mind some fabrication just about any wheels can be made to work.
Front rearsets from the 954 work.
929/954 engine is a bolt-in swap.
Tail fairing requires a modified rear subframe to fit the 954 tail to the 954.
954 clip-ons should be the same. 1000RR clip-ons I would expect to work but haven't tried them myself.
Front brake reservoir can be off many different bikes. The 954 master cylinder is a straight swap but is a different bore size.
Instrument cluster is 929 only.

Ok, looking at steering head bearings... 929/954 and 1000RR up through 07 all use the same bearings. Therefore, you can swap triples between all of them. It's possible that the offset and spacing between the forks is different, so you may need both, but the triples should bolt up to the frames no problem.

When changing the clamps you also need to know the length of the steering stem.
And what method of steering lock is used may be relevant. My GSXR600 frontend on my ZX6R means I have no lock stops.
