Having gotten into drag racing a bit with the blade this year I am probably going to hit up silverbullet for a NOS kit and possibly some sort of shift assist over the winter as well. I will still ride the bike on the street probably sans the nitrous bottle though..

Still waiting on Naarden to get the damn speedlinks done for the bike though.. Been waiting since Spring...

WTF is the big deal? I'm putting a NOS kit and an MPS autoshifter on my bike this winter (all from Silverbullet I might add). Guess that makes me some kind of punk?

Why all the discussion and criticism? It's his bike and his money - so who phucking cares if he puts NOS on it or not?

:plus1: I agree. I would do it to my 929 if I had a power commander. If I could do it without let me know. I would run a 30 shot hide it in the trunk. sounds like a move to me. My friend had a 75 dry shot on his busa and he said it would break the tire free at 140 and smoke it...a little more than I need. He also had a VStar 1100 with two stage 40shot and a 90 shot. If he wants to throw some juice at it why not. Oh You guys must want him to stay stock like ur 1000rr

HE did say hey guys Whats ur opinion about me putting nos on my 1000RR. he asked where he can get a kit and find more info. not for your criticism. answer his damn question. I only get stirred up cuz i see it so much on this site. I love the forum and I am on it everynight but as soon as someones asks a question on come the fifth degree and YOU BETTER READ THE SITE RULES!! $hit.

This is a forum for discussion, and I do believe that we were discussing the original post. And besides, I simply asked him why anyone would want or need NOS on the street? He said that he NEEDS it. We can't even use half of our bike's potential (legally) so what's the point? I'm not calling him names, I just want to know why.

I wasnt pointing the finger at you it is alot of people on this forum and there are a couple replies on this tread getting off topic with replies for him to justify why he should have nitrous. We're not his mommy and daddy he doesnt have to eplain himself. if he wants it then lets help him with any info we may have. That is what this forum is good for. helping out but I see it to often where someones asks why and then well you want that for the street, why why why. IF he wants to smoke a busa then lets help him smoke a busa. GO HONDA.... I cant blame him if he wants more speed IM a speed addict myself....GO Hard or go home.

Simply don't talk about illegal activity in this thread and you are all fine.

There is nothing inherently illegal about Nitrous on a street car/bike, and at least NOS even makes 50 state legal (meaning they pass smog) kits.

No problem discussing this...

Why would you want or need nitrous on a street bike?
I already told you I'm a sick bastard.
I race the bike and I don't want other people knowing about it.

Anyway, I don't have/want a PCIII and I want to run a 30 shot. Has anyone done it with this setup? Insight?

Any input on this topic would be appreciated...Has anyone sprayed with teh stock swing arm? In what gear? Etc...

Since I own a motorcycle tuning shop, I guess I'm money hungry and can sell a kit to him.

The thing with a kit.....if you buy the kit, it comes with a 1lb bottle, which is what I have on my 954....I don't think the 1lb bottle will fit in the trunk like it does on the 954. If you want it hidden; I can sell you the kit with a 7 or 10oz bottle that you can try to put somewhere behind a fairing.

Price:
$300 shipped with 1lb bottle as a kit. Bottle is 10" long and 3-1/8th" dia.
$350 shipped with 7oz bottle. Bottle is 11-1/2" long and 2" diameter.
$365 shipped with 10oz bottle. Bottle is 15-1/4" long and 2" diameter.
$390 shipped with 10oz NOS brand bottle.

The reason the smaller bottles are more is because you can't get the kit with the smaller bottles, so you have to buy the bottle seperate.

ummm other people will know about it when they hear the hammer and fizz. If you can't tell a bike is running NOS when they trigger, you're blind . . . (or whatever Yogi Berra said).

never heard a hammer and fizz out of a bike on it either and there are many of them that race with it here.

Hammer and fizz is a phrase I borrowed from someone after hearing the 50th bike hit the juice at 2:00 AM a couple of years ago at the "midnight nationals" in the everglades.

If you don't notice the sound, pitch and SPL level change when you spray then I would guess you're too close to the sound source. I have never had any problem hearing the difference in engine pitch when a rider triggers the NOS :idunno: .

but also remember how well your ears are trained to sound changes. I know the sound you're talking about. you have to listen for it. plus you can also see it when someone hits it, a sudden boost in speed and you know they have it.

No offence guys, but most tuning shops aren't looking out for your best interest when they sell you NOS for your street bike, but im sure you already know that. Is NOS street leagal? Will you spray NOS and keep it under speed limit? If so, whats the purpose of spraying NOS and riding speed limit? Maybe for faster acceleration in local streets and busy highways :idunno:

No offence guys, but most tuning shops aren't looking out for your best interest when they sell you ANY AFTERMARKET PERFORMANCE EQUIPMENT including high performance tires, exhaust systems, fuel mapping devices, light weight bodywork etc.

FFreak - I see where you are at, but your a little on the extreme with chatising so much as the shop for selling nos. What next, baskin robbins for making people fat, convenience stores for selling butts, gun shops for selling hunting knives? :smilebig: Have you seen the movie Torque btw? ;)
