You mean 60 years.

Considering that Marijuana is far less harmful than alcohol, this is a victory if you are a supporter of decriminalization.

Thats why I was scractching my head, 1 day's jail??

What are some of these judges thinking?

This was a victory and the right thing to do.
What the story didn't tell much about was the fact that he was growing it under request from the city of Oakland and the state of California. Medical marijuana is legal in California, and he was growing it for the city. The Federal prosecutor made sure the jury was not allowed to hear that in the trial, and when they found out, they were pissed and all stated that they would not have found him guilty.

The government would not only save a shitload of money by legalizing marijuana, but would make about twice what they spend 'fighting' it if they did.
