Let me be the bad guy again....:rotfl:

*Obituary*

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of
Edinborough, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some
2,000 years prior:

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a
permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until
the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts
from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for
the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with
the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal
policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship."

"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of
history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations
always progressed through the following sequence:

"From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From
courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to
complacency; From complacency to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From
dependence back into bondage."

The Obituary follows:

Born 1776, Died 2008 It doesn't hurt to read this several times.

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul ,
Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the last
Presidential election:

Number of States won by Obama 19
. McCain: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama 580,000
. McCain: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama 127 million
. McCain: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by Obama 13.2
:

McCain 2.1.

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was
mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income
tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..."

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency
and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some
forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the
"governmental dependency" phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal
invaders called illegal's - and they vote - then we can say goodbye to the
USA in fewer than five years.

If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.

If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much
is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

I don't know if you noticed but I have no love for the current President. Frankly, this guy needs to go.

No better here in the UK, our unelected 'government' is busily feathering the nests of its sponsors whilst shafting the tax paying public. Please let civilisation last for about twenty more years, then I'll be beyond caring.

Does that mean the less privileged people liked his ideas about raising them from poverty and getting them jobs and the rich people liked the other guy's ideas?

Wasn't the US like Canada in that everyone there is immigrants except for the Native Americans? Why start kicking immigrants out now? You're all immigrants :idunno: No one invited the pilgrims to invade..

If all those last people to get into the US (like all the Europeans before them), had to leave, wouldn't the country's economy grind to a halt?
What would rich right wing people do without less-white people taking care of their kids and gardens?

Okay, that was a low blow but you're so much fun when you get your shorts in a knot. :eyebrows:

EEK! No, no,no.:nono: He's not only married but he would bring me to church and I would try to take the pulpit to have a good ol'
soapbox-style rant, then hellfire and brimestone would rain down and me without a devil-proof umbrella or helmet!

Just joshing you FB :poke:

I haven't been party to any knotted shorts recently :crap: Being boringly good.

Ahem.....there is a difference between a legal immigrant and an illegal alien.

A legal immigrant follows proper laws and requests permission to enter a country, works legally and pays taxes to contribute to the social services they receive.

An illegal alien enters the country under false documentation, or none at all. May work, potentially taking jobs from other immigrants or citizens that are following the rules. Benefits from social services that they aren't financially contributing to, such as education, welfare programs, safe communities, etc.

Just as slavery and indentured servitude are no longer considered civil acts, no group in a society should thrive off the backs of another. Illegal immigrants "thrive" off the backs of every legal worker by not contributing their share to society. No working social structure includes a "free lunch". Everyone needs to contribute. There are many legal ways to enter and work in the US. All I'm saying is join us the right way and contribute in a fair way to make our society sustainable and strong.

Yep..inner cities, complainers who don't like to take action to better themselves.

Wasn't the US like Canada in that everyone there is immigrants except for the Native Americans? Why start kicking immigrants out now? You're all immigrants :idunno: No one invited the pilgrims to invade..
We are talking illegal immigrants here...check with your local Canadian laws. They are even tougher.

If all those last people to get into the US (like all the Europeans before them), had to leave, wouldn't the country's economy grind to a halt?
What would rich right wing people do without less-white people taking care of their kids and gardens?
Again, you are not seeing the point here. It's not about throwing people out (it would destroy a lot of lives if the Us would throw out 12+ million illegal immigrants) but letting illegals in. If you do everything right most likely you will get a visa and later citizenship. Hell, they even let me in.

The original settlers were not legal. Duh.
They built your country.

Would people like you have the same issue if the settlers today were from ...say old days Sweden? White and wealthy?
Sorry, I just don't agree with you here, it's just fear.

If people tried it the other way, open arms, welcome, I'll help you get settled and employed....
Wow that would be like the old days! And then a country was built because of it.

And don't lecture me about Canadian immigration law, you know zippo about how people find their way here. You can read the written laws but you don't live in my very welcoming city. We have many systems not just the horrible bribe-for-entry that our current right wing nut case gov supports. Our 33% of electorate gov actually sent 'back' true refugees (murdered upon arrival) and even someone who was born here (parents from elsewhere) The same xenophobic fear was responsible.

I have volunteered at our local centre and I wish we had more refugees.
Something like that great american statue...send us your poor....

Haha, I'm female, silly! That opportunity is everywhere so I certainly don't need to try. I just haven't seen James Bond walking down the street...:eyebrows:

And if you believe that hell thing, my 'suffering' should make you a happy fellow.

I'll be right up. Hell, you even can tuck me in.

And there you thought I can't :stirpot:it up. Btw, soar issue?

Was this mandated by the judge?

And if you believe that hell thing, my 'suffering' should make you a happy fellow.
I don't believe in hell because I know what the correct translation is. It's not satan, devil, etc...

Hmm, that doesn't look good for you, does it. :nono:

I'll be right up. Hell, you even can tuck me in.
If you were a person escaping from a war zone, I might tuck you in if it would stave off the nightmares.:idunno:
But you, FB, would find that any church here will give you sanctuary if you needed it. The Druids and the Wiccans will too but you might have too much fun. I could see if I could find you one of those dance naked around the fire groups?

Entry to Canada:
Rule one: Lose the gun.
Rule Two: leave your 'baggage' at home.

Welcome here any day. I could find you employment in about a week.

And there you thought I can't :stirpot:it up.
Ha, never doubted it. Like I said, you're fun when you get,...um..your feathers ruffled.
Btw, soar issue?
Nope, that's skydiving. But yes, sore issue, our current leader has changed the name of The Canadian Government to The Harper Government and that is truly the first step to dictatorship. Sadly, that's not even a joke :crap: He's a megalomaniac.

Was this mandated by the judge?
Ooo that's creepy. You guys have a lot of crime issues eh? People like me volunteer because we want to not because we have to. You should try it, helping for no personal gain, it's kind of addictive.

I don't believe in hell because I know what the correct translation is. It's not satan, devil, etc...
:rotfl:
Well, that was kind of a let down...

Damned. And there I just had plans to get myself one of these Canadians to clean my house, cook, and cut my grass. :rotfl:
Good luck there, $$$$. But if you fill up your beer fridge you may attract one or two. Don't forget the medical benefits, pension, dental plan, eyecare plan, bonus pay, vacation pay and 4 weeks+ paid holiday. Statutory holidays may be a savings though. Do they need to speak english? Is french okay?

This is the second time you mention "feathers rufflerd.
Why do you have the impression that I get flustered that easily?

Btw- if you want to learn how to skydive I can help with that as well. :smilebig:
