They're not the same. There is a way to put a 929 map into a 954 PCIII and vice-versa, but it involves cutting and pasting. the files are not compatible where you can just upload maps for a 954 into a 929 PC.
what happens is that the zero map in a 929 map translates to a -5 (or some other value) when used on a 954, basically an offset.
which means that if you want a map value of 10 on your 954 you have to allow for the offest meaning that you'll have to set the map at 15 on a 929 PCIII
it's not really an issue and if you already have a 929 PC, it's probably worth your while just working around the offest, as it will be cheaper than selling a 2nd hand PCIII and buying a new one. It's not like it's something you'd do all the time anyway.
you just need to be aware that PCIII only go to values of 35 and -35 so the max and min values are also offest, so you might no tbe able to lean out the bike quite as much (only go down to an effective -30 but go up to +40) -I don't know anyone who has to go that extreme though.
