Does anyone have a custom Power Commander III not the usb map with these or extremely similar mods that they could send me?
Flapper mod
HTEV delete
Yoshi half system
Stock or K&N air filter
I'm trying to tune out the bogging I get in the lower rpm when I go to full throttle, without using the accelerator pump module since the old PCIII doesnt have it.
If you want to fix your problem re-install the htev. If you are running a stock header the bike runs the best with it. With the htev removed you have to use more clutch and throttle to get going. I have the same setup as you except for a BMC race filter (you can still buy one from Yoshimura-rd.com for $28 plus shipping). The stock filter is better than the K-N filter for performance.
I do alot of drag racing and my bike run better with the stock filter over the K-N and I lost nearly 2 tenths off my 60ft times by running a Hass eliminator w/map from Hass over the stock htev.
I have went back and forth between the map for my Yosh 1/2 system and the map for a Two Bros bolt on. Not much difference performance wise between the two. You don't gain much at all from a bolt-on or half system exhaust so just about any map for a bolt-on will work just fine.
Done HTEV is reinstalled and the bike runs 10x better! Hey backdoc do you have a custom map for a pcIII with these mods or does the pc map for the yoshi pipe work best? I just don't have the money to get the bike dyno tuned.
Thank you for the tip but I like having the top end with htev out for road course racing I just wanted to get rid of the bogging without having to put the htev back in. I just want to fix it through tuning. Do you have a PCIII map that will work for this?
Whether you remove or retain the HTEV has zero affect on topend as it is fully open anyway.
The engine is not designed to pull throttle under about 4000rpm anyway so stop asking it to. Get the revs up before giving it throttle.
