Hi,

I've just dropped my rear wheel off to have a new Pilot Power 2CT fitted in time for my next track day at Phillip Island...can't wait !

I'm particularly interested to see how it goes wear wise as I only got 300Kms out of my last Pilot Race rear before it was toast (left hand side all gone after one day's riding at Phillip Island). I'm a bit worried that the shoulder rubber (supposed to be 20% softer than the standard PP compound) feels about the same as the Pilot Race, but given the 2CT will have a road tyre carcass that it will overheat and wear even quicker...

These tyres (tires) are only just available in Oz so there's not too much info on how they go on the road or track yet - has anyone tried them yet ?

Cheers, Spanky

I have used the CT2 on the front and it seemed to work as well as the regular pilot power (i.e. in the area of handling, feeling of confidence). I worked the entire circumfrance of the tire doing all street riding in the California mountains and no track though.

Hello

I use the 2CT in the front and rear tire, and they are exceptional, much better that the pilot sport, that i had before.

9000 miles out of a tire!!!!! holy crap!
best I got out of the pilot power was 4000.
Me Too ! 6000Kms was it for the last Pilot Power I used on the road...but I did get three track days or probably about 800Kms plus a couple of thousand Kms on the road out from another PP though which I thought was pretty good.

I have them on my bike & they are exceptional!

I get about 5k miles from the rear & 8k miles from the front. This is with 1 high speed European trip to the Nurburgring, Many laps of the ring, & a few track days. In fact most guys at the Ring have them tyres fitted. Grip (wet & dry) is exceptional, turn in, stability, warm up time & feel is all great.

Colin Edward tested them on the M1 MotoGP bike & went only 8 secs a lap slower in Sepang. Mightly impressive if you ask me!

I have the CT's on my Blade and i love them. Makes my bike wanna fall over in the twisties. I'm also heard that the Dunlap Qualifiers is also another nice tire to have. Peeps say u get more miles outta the Qualifiers than u do the CT's. But i just love my Ct's.....=-)

here in italy we are not big fans of michelin power 2CT
a lot of users complain about the front end and the turn to pirelli and metzler
rennsport for street and track use 50-50%
sportec M3 and diablo corsa III for street and 20-30% track use
supercorsa and racetec for track only

we pay like 180 euros for the rennsport and 240 euros for the Corsa and M3 mounted on the bike ;)
