question about siphon hose for 2002 cbr 954

Hello, just bought a 2002 cbr 954 2 months ago (my first bike ever)
on my last ride a few days ago smoke started to come just under the fuel tank.
when i parked my bike, i noticed a lot of cooling water coming out from the bottom. during later inspection i noticed that the siphon hose was broken.
my questio is if i can use any rubber hose with proper diameter and length to replace the siphon hose or does it have to be a special hose just for the cbr 954? when i say any hose, i dont mean a rubber garden hose but a coolant hose for vehicels which are heat protected, but not specifically for honda cbr 954.

also another question. i was wondering if my radiator is now empty because of broken siphon hose, because when i looed at the technical diagram, this hose is a connectio between the radiator and the reserve tank, but it doesnt take part in the circulation of the cooling water under normal conditions. And since the connection to the radiator is just under the cap, i was wondering if the broken hose is the reason for leaking coolant and empty radiator or could there be something else?

Many thanks

You use any hose as long as it is good for temps above about 130C but it has to remain rigid under vacuum when it draws the coolant back from the reservoir so it'll need a fairly heavy wall thickness.
If the hose is split then it will not draw coolant back, so yes, it might explain the empty cooling system.
Be sure to bleed the system when you refill the radiator.

It doesn't. The reservoir is external and is there purely to catch any coolant expelled from the engine. When the engine cools down it creates vacuum which opens the return valve in the radiator cap and draws the coolant back into the radiator. Without the reservoir you would have to top the radiator up yourself after overheating it.

From a core or one of the tanks?
Show it to a radiator specialist as it might be repairable.
