Im thinking of ditching my crash cage for these race railsPowers Stuntworx, - Crash Cages they are approved for the tracks. Seems like I would have all the clearance I need for cornering and have the protection of a cage. I have talked with a few people who have them and they love them and said if it gets laid down hard it may scratch the stator cover but thats pretty much it. It seems like a pretty good product I was just kinda throwing it out there if any one is interested but I am interested if anyone has tried them on their bike and if anyone has pics of some on a 954 or 929?

a lot of those don't appear that they would do anything more than just having frame sliders.
Most frame sliders won't actually do much of anything at all, unless they're very heavy duty and attached with a bolt running through the engine mounts. Even then, none of them (that I know of) can hold up to a high speed low-side, and heaven forbid the slider catches the grass.

These things basically create a ski with multiple reinforcement points that can actually protect your fairings along with your frame, crankcase, etc.

They look ridiculous, why don't you fit stabilzers onto your bike too. :bitchslap:

Nothing farther from the truth than the quote above.
Frame sliders work VERY WELL. And yes, I have first hand knowlegde of this.

I can't count how many frame sliders I've seen completely snapped off just from the initial impact (not counting the ones that catch the grass), leaving half the bolt for you to drill or tap out. The stock ones that come with GSXRs and ZX-Rs are complete trash, as are those "no cut" frame sliders, and LOTS of others as well.

I use Motoslider frame sliders on my SV, which I HAVE SEEN work many many times (and are very well known for doing so), but at a certain speed or with grass, they will still snap or bend the bolt to where you have to cut it or torch it out.

It all just comes down to physics. A large amount of stress on a single point versus a large amount of stress on a weight dispersing bar that's reinforced at three different points. Which one do you think is going to hold up better?

They are reinforced so it would take alot more to bend and break than a frame slider. Ive seen pics of bikes that have gone down hard and there is only minor scratches to lower fairings and the stator cover. THey definately look to do a better job than a frame slider. I thought I'd post them to see if anyone has tried them or is interested. If I sell my FI cage I'll get a set. and let you guys know what I think. as for those who think they look ridiculous, thats your opinion and I appreciate all comments. Not everybody is going to like everything. anyone decide to try them or use them? I'd like to see apics or hear some feedback.

I thought we were talking about street bikes. What are you doing in the grass?
